Can we use P89v51rb2 instead of ATmega8515?

I am doing a project based on moving message LED display,

I got a hex file programmed for ATmega 8515 and been using for the same 8X8 matrix project.And I replaced the entire ckt expect the microcontroller p89v51rb2 .

I want to know if it can be used in its place with out reprogramming.

I have also checked its pin config which was same to see,.,

please help

no.u have to reprogram P89v51rb2 written in c,asm,basic .you can't use same hex code .my email santoshaxl@gmail.com for further information.thank you .

at mega8515 has got internal occilator where as 89v51 may be external and the source code may be written in basic avr you must write similar program in c,asm,basic for 89v51 .then the answer is yes otherwise no.
