Help with the design of a Cardiology Patient Simulator

I am trying to build a project that will operate like this: the user will select a clinical scenario from the PC application and then the appropriate wav or mp3 file will be played to 4 speakers.
Only one sound file would be played back at a time. The user must be able to mute/solo any speaker he likes.
What is the best way to implement this? Thank you in advance,
