How to expand I/O ports using 74LC373 and 74LS540?

I want to expand I/O ports.I use a microcontroller (AT89C51)which based on 8051 microprocessor. I will expand it via latch(74ls373) and/or buffer(74ls540) not shift register.

How can i do this?
