How to start this silly project ... self powered battery monitoring

by Howard
(Indianapolis, IN)

I am going to ask a very simple question, and I hope I don't get flamed for it.

I want to monitor a 1.5 to 3.0 vdc level across two battery terminals. I want to self power it, ( I can do a little voltage step up) I also will be having a number (72)of these devices, and I want to monitor them by a bus (CANbus of some flavor, I guess)

I need to run a daisy chain topology, either single, double, or quad. I also want to pick up a reading each .25 seconds or so.

Any takers?
