LED Matrix Ideas for Microcontroller projects using 8x8 blocks

You can create most of these led matrix programs using the PIC microcontroller - there's a simple circuit for the display here.



Note: You'll have to add some buttons to let you control the programs and it would be a good idea to run the processor at the maximum (20MHz for the 16F88).

Interestingly a some of the projects were created using a 16F84 (the first one uses a PC interface = cheating!).
