Parallax GPS with PICs.

by Justin
(RHE, CA, USA)

I want to make a PIC controlled device that can measure and record it's speed. The parallax GPS that can be found here,

http://www.parallax.com/detail.asp?product_id=28146,

is perfect except it uses UART with one pin that is input and output. Does anyone know how the PIC's hardware UART would work with this?

Thanks,
Justin

What GPS
by: Justin

What kind of GPS are you using? I got one that was around $50 and is easy to use, but I have not actually tried it yet. I am waiting from my LV 24-33 board to come from MikroE. If you have received the the string you just need to identify what part is the time and cut it out. Witch is fairly easy with C.
